LED Light Therapy by Skin for Life
Illuminate Skin Health from Within
LED Light therapy, we believe in skin that radiates with health, not just appearance. Designed for licensed professionals who want to deliver clinically effective, non-invasive treatments that stimulate cellular renewal, support barrier function, and enhance overall skin resilience. Whether you’re targeting acne, signs of aging, or compromised skin conditions, this system delivers real results with no downtime.
Why LED Light Therapy Works
Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology harnesses specific wavelengths of light to penetrate the skin at varying depths. Each color targets a different skin concern:
-
Red Light (626–635nm): Stimulates collagen and elastin production, improving skin firmness, reducing fine lines, and accelerating healing. Red is a primary light used to stimulate the ATP “Adenosine Triphosphate” within the skin cells.
-
Blue Light (468–470nm): Kills acne-causing bacteria (P. acnes), reduces inflammation, and helps balance oil production.
- Infra-red (940nm): penetrates more deeply into the dermis, reaching soft tissue. This makes it an ideal modality for addressing not just surface skin issues, but also underlying concerns related to inflammation, circulation, and skin repair.
Light reflects naturally off the skin’s surface—but at Skin for Life, we’ve engineered a solution. Our LED handpieces feature an occlusive design that is placed directly against the skin. This intentional design minimizes light bounce and reflection, ensuring maximum absorption into the skin for direct, uninterrupted photobiomodulation.
By eliminating unnecessary dispersion, we create a complete connection between light energy and the skin, allowing for deeper cellular stimulation and more effective results. This design supports our commitment to treatment integrity, consistency, and outcomes you can trust.
How to plug in?
The handpieces have a 6 foot cord that plug into the back panel of the LED Light Machine. Each end of the din plug has 5 pins that slide into the fitting securely for attachment. The on and off button to control the power is on the back panel of the machine. This machine is easy to use.
The machine does not come with goggles. When working with blue light LED it is important to cover the eyes with goggles or a thick material to protect the eyes.
Blue Light Ideal for Oily and Troubled Skin
Clients with oily, acne, troubled or active skin conditions will need the assistance of Blue Light Therapy. However, a licensed skin care professional must use the RED LED Light first. Once RED Light is completed then a skin care therapist may use the Blue light for an additional 10-15 minutes.
The Blue light emits a single oxygen molecule to retard the growth of P-Acne. Propionibacterium contributes to 90% of acne skin conditions. Provide clients with an “Oily Skin Care Kit” along with seeing clients/patients twice a week for three weeks. This is the ultimate skin treatment for combating oily/troubled skin conditions.
Simple to use. Apply to active skin for 90 seconds per area and overlap 30% to 50 %. Maintain direct contact with skin for at least 4-5 passes. Avoid the eye area, thyroid or middle of the throat area. Protect the eyes with LED goggles.
Contraindications:
- Epilepsy
- Thyroid Conditions
- Pregnancy
- Do Not Apply to Open Wounds.
Precautions:
- Sensitivity to Migraines or Headaches
- Do Not use creams and/or ointments before the treatment
- Use caution when client or patient is on topical or systemic steroids
Optimal Use of LED Light Therapy: Clean Skin, Maximum Results
For best results, LED Light Therapy should be applied after exfoliation and prior to the final mask. It is essential that the skin be free of serums, ointments, or any occlusive skincare products during the treatment.
Here’s why: many skincare products contain active molecules that can interfere with light transmission. These molecules may reflect or scatter light, reducing its ability to penetrate the skin effectively. This forces the light to work harder—rather than smarter—to stimulate the desired cellular response.
At Skin for Life, we prioritize treatment integrity. Performing LED therapy on clean, product-free skin ensures optimal light absorption, allowing each wavelength to reach its target depth and support healthy skin function from the inside out.
LED Light may be used after microdermabrasion, before or after oxygen infusion, before or after microneedling, after dermaplaning, or before your final mask application.
Red Light must be on the skin minimum of 10 minutes and maximum time of 20 minutes. it is important to always use Red LED before applying the Blue Light.
After the Red Light is completed, apply the Blue Light directly on the face for a minimum time of 10 minutes, maximum time 20 minutes. It may be used on target blemished areas only.
Add our pure science skin care with nanotechnology to make a true difference for a corrective, positive skin change. After completing the LED Light apply Vita C Serum or Moisture Booster for a faster delivery when brightening, and/or improving skin hydration.
