Equipment Repair Process & Shipping Instructions

Skin for Life provides a structured equipment evaluation and repair process designed to protect your investment, document the condition of your machine, and ensure clear communication before repairs begin.

Step 1: Contact Our Service Department

Before shipping your professional skincare equipment, contact the Skin for Life Service Department to speak directly with our Service Manager about your machine’s performance, maintenance needs, or technical concerns.

When additional troubleshooting is necessary, our Service Manager may recommend scheduling a FaceTime or Microsoft Teams video consultation to observe the machine in operation, better understand the concern, and determine whether an in-house evaluation is needed.

Step 2: Packaging Instructions & Pre-Shipping Documentation

If the Service Manager determines that your machine requires professional evaluation, maintenance, or repair, you will receive an email containing detailed packaging instructions.

Proper packaging is essential to minimizing the risk of damage during transportation.

Before shipping, customers will be asked to photograph:

  • The front, back, and both sides of the machine.

  • Any handpieces, accessories, or additional components included in the shipment.

These photographs help document the equipment’s condition before it leaves your facility. It is also important to add insurance, dollar amount to the shipment because if damage does occur customers (are the shipper) will be able to make a claim and receive compensation for the cost of the damage during transportation to Skin for Life.

Step 3: Equipment Receiving & Inspection

Upon arrival at the Skin for Life Service Department, our Service Manager follows a documented receiving procedure.

  • Shipping Box Inspection: Photographs are taken of the exterior shipping box to document its condition upon arrival.

  • Packaging Documentation: Before removing the equipment, photographs are taken of the internal packaging and how the machine was secured.

  • Equipment Inspection: Once unpacked, photographs are taken of the machine’s front, back, and sides, along with all accompanying handpieces and components.

This documentation helps establish the equipment’s condition upon receipt and identify potential shipping-related concerns.

Step 4: Technical Evaluation & Repair Authorization

Our Service Manager and technical team evaluate the machine to identify performance issues, maintenance requirements, and necessary repairs.

Once the evaluation is completed, the Service Manager will contact the customer with the findings and provide a repair estimate before any repair work begins.

No repairs will be performed without customer authorization.
